About us
The Fairer, Healthier Liverpool (FHL) Partnership leads Liverpool’s local Marmot City approach. It’s a group of different organisations working together to improve the building blocks of health in the city. Their work directly supports the Liverpool Health and Wellbeing Board.
We are creating a fairer, healthier Liverpool by:
- Driving collective action across the Marmot Eight Principles.
- Strengthening partnerships between public, private and third sector organisations.
- Involving communities in the identification of the drivers of poor health and in the design and implementation of actions to reduce them.
- Monitoring what is happening locally and taking proactive, preventive action.
- Supporting leadership and advocacy on health equity.
Partnership priorities
The Fairer, Healthier Liverpool Partnership identified 5 priorities:

1
Housing

2
Income

3
Climate change

4
Mental distress

5
Health in all policies
Cross cutting theme: Children and Young People
The partnership has focused on two main goals:
- improving health through housing
- improving health through income
These goals will guide the first two years of the FHL partnership.
In April 2025, Liverpool became a Marmot City. The partnership will work on all five priorities to address health inequalities and improve the community’s well-being.
